Hisab Kitab - Smart Ledger & AI Expense Assistant
A personal finance and peer-to-peer debt ledger that tracks multi-wallet balances and uses an AI chat assistant for effortless expense logging.

Problem
Managing everyday money across physical cash, digital wallets (SadaPay, NayaPay), and bank accounts usually leaves people guessing where their cash actually went.
On top of that, informal debts (lending money for fuel, splitting lunch, or borrowing a quick amount) almost always get tracked through mental math or lost WhatsApp messages, leading to awkward confusion weeks later. Most budgeting apps completely ignore informal peer debts, while group-splitting apps force you into rigid, complicated group setups just to split a single meal.
Delivered
I designed and built Hisab Kitab as a unified, mobile-first financial companion tailored for real everyday life:
- Multi-Wallet Balances: Real-time tracking across Cash, Bank Accounts, and Digital Wallets with automatic double-entry balance reconciliation.
- Direct Contact Ledgers (Udhar): A peer-to-peer ledger to record money lent (Maine Diye) and borrowed (Maine Liye) with clear timelines and one-click settlements.
- AI Chat Assistant: A conversational assistant that understands natural Roman Urdu and English ("Maine NayaPay se 250 ka breakfast kiya"). It drafts an interactive proposal card so you can review and tap Confirm before anything touches your database.
- Mobile PWA & Push Alerts: An installable home-screen web app with gentle push notifications reminding you to log daily spending.
Impact
- Zero Mental Math: Replaced scattered WhatsApp notes and guesswork with an instant, transparent view of real net balance and who owes whom.
- Frictionless Logging: Logging expenses turned from a tedious dropdown chore into a 5-second natural chat message.
- Accurate Reconciliation: Solved negative-balance leaks and miscalculated debts across multiple payment accounts in one clean view.
